The Virus Collection Kit is designed for collection, transportation and short-time storage of total DNA/RNA in clinical specimens such as saliva, blood, serum, stool and body fluid, etc. The preservative will lyse the organisms and inactivate the cells, bacteria and viruses. The stored samples can be used in subsequent clinical experiments such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR testing or sequencing. The kit is ideal for collecting specimens for coronavirus identification and downstream studies.
Application
Used for collection, transportation and storage of viral DNA/RNA samples. This product is suitable for the preservation of pharyngeal swabs, nasal swabs or tissue samples in specific parts after sampling. The stored samples can be used in subsequent clinical experiments such as nucleic acid extraction/purification, PCR experiments and next-generation sequencing (NGS).

Instructions for Use
Before starting, read the user manual, make sure all the operations are followed as indicated.
Firstly, make sure the collection tube is sealed well and the cotton pad is dry. If not, do not use and discard it.
Label relevant sample information on the tube and follow the below protocols:
- Take out the swab from the package, and swab deep into the oral or nasal cavity or other parts of the body for sampling. The specific sampling methods as follows:
a) Nasal swab: Gently insert the swab head into the nasal condyle of the nasal passage, and then slowly turn it out after staying for a while. Wipe the other nostril with another swab if necessary.
b) Pharyngeal swab: Wipe the bilateral pharyngeal tonsils and posterior pharyngeal wall with the swab. - Open the collection tube and immerse the swab head in the preservative, and then break the plastic stick at a lower place to make the swab head sealed in the tube, discard the tail.
- Screw up the tube cap, and shake it up-and-down several times.
- Place the sampling tube in a biohazard bag and seal it for transportation.
