MicroCollect™ Stool Collection and Preservation Device

An all-in-one system for collection of the fecal microbiome

The MicroCollect™ Stool Collection and Preservation Device Products are designed for collecting and preserving microbiome profiles from stool samples. This product includes a collection tube, a sampling swab/spoon attached to the lid, nitrile gloves, and collection paper. Stool collection can be done by using the swab/spoon to transfer the stool into the collection and preservation tube. The stool sample should be submerged under the preservative. The collected stool sample can be stored and transported at ambient temperature for around 60 days or stored at -20°C or -80°C for a longer time.

This product is safe, non-invasive and affordable, and can profile unbiased, reproducible microbial community structures in the stool sample. High-quality microorganisms and DNA/RNA can be preserved and isolated. This product can be widely used in the department of endocrinology, infectious diseases and psychiatric disease analysis, downstream molecular biology experiments such as nucleic acid isolation, enzyme digestion, PCR, sequencing, etc. This product provides an easy solution for people to collect fecal samples independently at home or other places without any professional medical assistance. Instructions for Use

Each MicroCollect™ Stool Collection and Preservation Device consists of 4 components: (1) a collection and preservation tube with a flocked swab/spoon attached to the lid, (2) nitrile gloves, (3) preservative, (4) collection paper. The instructions for use are as follows:

1. Clean your hands before sampling and wear the provided gloves.
2. Collect the stool specimen using the provided collection paper.
3. Transfer the stool into the collection and preservation tube using the spoon/swab.
4. Mix the sample gently and ensure the stool is submerged under the preservative.
5. Storage/transport at room/frozen temperature.

*Matters needing attention:

1.Avoid contact with urine, water in toilet and hands to prevent sample contamination.
2.Do not contact the preservation solution directly. If it splashes onto the skin, rinse it with clean water as soon as possible. If it is swallowed carelessly, please take plenty of water or milk immediately and consult the doctor in time.
