The CD EGFRvIII RT-PCR Kit is used to detect EGFRvIII mutations in total RNA isolated from tumor biopsies through a single-step process (one step from RNA to result). EGFRvIII is the most common EGFR mutation in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), with EGFRvIII mutations found in approximately 60-70% of primary GBM tumors. Therefore, EGFRvIII mutation is a biomarker for detecting GBM and a potential therapeutic target for GBM.
