Current Status of MSI Research

Microsatellite Instability MSI Reference Products

Microsatellite instability (MSI) refers to the occurrence of errors or changes in the length of repetitive DNA sequences during DNA replication. Microsatellites are DNA regions that contain short, repetitive nucleotide sequences that can usually be accurately replicated and stably passed on. However, the replication machinery can go wrong, resulting in an abnormal number of repeats in the microsatellite sequence in MSI. MSI is commonly observed in tumors with defective mismatch repair (MMR) systems, such as colorectal, endometrial, gastric, ovarian, and pancreatic cancers. Recently, MSI testing has gained particular interest in cancer research and treatment to help guide treatment decisions. MSI testing can be accomplished by a variety of methods, including PCR-based assays and next-generation sequencing (NGS).

CD Genomics offers a wide range of MSI reference products to help you analyze MSI as a potential tumor biomarker to predict the efficacy of immunotherapy.
