| Product Description: | The CD c-KIT and PDGFRA RT-PCR Kit is a polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based assay that uses allele-specific primers to identify mutations present in the c-KIT and PDGFRA genes. More than 80% of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) harbor activating mutations in c-KIT, and 5-7% of GISTs harbor PDGFRA mutations. Mutations in c-KIT and PDGFRA are both cancer biomarkers, predict response to targeted therapy, and provide prognostic information. |
