Overview

Product Description

The CD Ras RT-PCR Panel can be used to screen for mutations found in exons 2, 3, and 4 of the KRAS and NRAS genes. KRAS and NRAS belong to the GTPases of the RAS family and play an important role in the MAPK signaling pathway. Exon 2 (codons 12/13), exon 3 (codons 59/61), and exon 4 (codons 117/146) are found in various cancers including metastatic colorectal cancer activating mutations. It was recently found that colorectal cancer patients with KRAS and NRAS mutations respond less to anti-EGFR-targeted therapy than patients without mutations.
