Product Description

Clostridium botulinum is a type of bacterium that produces one of the most potent neurotoxins known to science. The botulinum toxin it creates causes botulism, a rare but serious illness that can lead to muscle paralysis and even death. While this bacterium is typically found in soil, it can also contaminate food and cause botulism when ingested. Despite its deadly nature, the botulinum toxin is also used therapeutically in small doses, such as in cosmetic procedures like Botox. The kit is based on real-time PCR technology to detect Clostridium botulinum .
