Product Description

Microsatellite instability MSI (Microsatellite Instability), a phenomenon of MS sequence length alteration due to insertion or deletion mutations during DNA replication, is often caused by defective mismatch repair (MMR) function. In contrast, if there is no insertion or deletion change in the repetitive units of a microsatellite in a tumor, the microsatellite is in a stable state, called microsatellite stability MSS (Microsatellite stability).MSI can be used as a marker for prognosis of tumor patients and can be used to guide immunotherapy, screen patients with Lynch syndrome, etc. Among them, microsatellite instability is subdivided into two states: high (MSI-H) and low microsatellite (MSI-L) instability.

MSI can be understood as a subset, a special case of TMB. Almost all patients with high MSI instability have high TMB; however, conversely, patients with high TMB are not necessarily all MSI unstable, and a significant proportion of patients are microsatellite stable.
