Taura syndrome virus (TSV) is a RNA virus that infects marine shrimp and causes a serious disease called Taura syndrome. The disease was first reported in Ecuador in 1992 and has since spread to other shrimp farming regions in the Americas and Asia. TSV affects the cuticle and digestive system of shrimp, leading to reduced growth, mortality and economic losses. TSV belongs to the family Dicistroviridae and has a genome of about 10 kb length. This kit is based on real-time reverse transcription PCR to detect Taura syndrome virus (TSV).
