Yersinia enterocolitica and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis are two types of bacteria that can cause gastrointestinal infections in humans. Yersinia enterocolitica is typically transmitted through the consumption of contaminated food, such as raw or undercooked pork products, while Yersinia pseudotuberculosis is often associated with the consumption of contaminated produce or untreated water. Symptoms of infection can include diarrhea, fever, abdominal pain, and vomiting, and can last for several weeks. While rare, these bacteria can also cause more severe illnesses, such as sepsis, especially in people with weakened immune systems. Proper food safety practices, including cooking meat to the appropriate temperature and washing produce thoroughly, can help prevent infection. The kit is based on real-time PCR technology to detect Yersinia enterocolitica and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis.
Advantage:
1.Fast: 24 h to result including enrichment, with approx. 45 min of hands-on time
2.Safe: Prevention of false-negative results by internal control and prevention of carry-over contamination using Uracil-NGlycosylase
3.Sensitive: Detects 103-104 cfu/enriched food sample
4.Easy: Convenient, complete solution, including DNA extraction and real-time PCR analysis
