The CD IDH1/2 RT-PCR Kit detects IDH1 and IDH2 mutations in genomic DNA isolated from human tissues by amplifying mutant-specific sequences in DNA samples. Isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 and 2 (IDH1/2) are involved in cell metabolism, epigenetic regulation, redox state, and DNA repair, and mutations in IDH1/2 can lead to diseases including secondary glioblastoma and acute bone marrow Development and/or progression of various types of cancer including leukemia (AML). Aberrant histone and DNA methylation lead to mutations in IDH1/2, which in turn lead to altered stem cell differentiation and eventual tumorigenesis. IDH1/2 mutations are good biomarkers and promising drug targets for cancer. The kit contains primer/probe sets for multiplex detection of target genes and internal control genes.
