Hepatitis E Virus is a non-enveloped, single-stranded RNA virus that causes inflammation of the liver. It has four genotypes (1-4) that infect humans and some animals. It is transmitted mainly through fecal-oral route, either by contaminated water or food. It can also be transmitted by blood transfusion or organ transplantation. This kit is based on real-time reverse transcription PCR to detect hepatitis E virus.
PCR cycler platforms: Validated for use with the Agilent AriaMxTM, Bio-Rad CFX96 TouchTM and CFX96 TouchTM Deep Well PCR platforms.
Kit components
1. 1× OligoMix HEV*, vial with yellow cap with primers / probes for IPC / HEV and IPC-RNA, 530 μL, store at -20℃ ± 2℃, do not freeze/thaw more than 3 times.
2. 1× BasicMix* Food, vial with white cap, 265 μL, store at -20℃ ± 2℃, do not freeze/thaw more than 3 times.
3. 1× Positive Control HEV, vial with red cap, 100 μL, store at -20℃ ± 2℃, do not freeze/thaw more than 6 times.
4. 1× Negative Control, vial with transparent cap, 500 μL, store at -20℃ ± 2℃.
