Product Description

Coconut Tinangaja Viroid is a small particle of genetic material that infects coconut palms and causes tinangaja disease. It can cause lethal damage to affected plants and produce thinning of the crown, yellow spots on the leaves, small and scarred nuts with no kernel, and trunk tapering. It can also be confused with another viroid called Coconut Cadang-Cadang Viroid which has similar symptoms. It is transmitted by grafting, seeds, pollen, or contaminated tools. This kit is based on real-time reverse transcription PCR to detect coconut tinangaja viroid.
