Legionella Pneumophila is a species of bacteria that can cause a type of pneumonia known as Legionnaires' disease. It is commonly found in water sources such as hot tubs, cooling towers, and plumbing systems, and can be transmitted to humans through inhalation of contaminated water droplets. Symptoms of infection can include fever, cough, and shortness of breath, and in severe cases, it can lead to respiratory failure and even death. The kit is based on a PCR reaction to detect Legionella Pneumophila in the sample.
