Molecular Breeding and Genotyping

With the growing global population, decreasing water resources and land area, and complex changes in the global climate, all of which put global agriculture in an increasingly complex situation. The emergence of molecular breeding technologies for plants and animals has enabled agricultural genomics to provide sustainable solutions to global food challenges, and the emergence of molecular breeding technologies has drastically reduced the time required to improve plant and animal varieties, thus promoting agricultural research by breeding superior plant and animal varieties to promote agricultural research.

Developments and advances in genomic technology have allowed for higher throughput genotyping of previously larger populations, thereby accelerating research in plant and animal breeding. CD Genomics offers GBS technology, a powerful genetic screening method for the discovery of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Traditional GBS utilizes restriction endonucleases to reduce the whole genome to small fragments, which are then amplified by PCR and sequenced on a short-read sequencing platform. Currently, we provide GBS for a wide range of applications in plant and animal genotyping and better provide effective solutions for molecular breeding and agricultural genomics research.
