2bRAD services

2b-RAD technology refers to a simplified genome sequencing technique based on type IIB restriction endonucleases. By performing high-throughput sequencing of the tag generated by type IIB endonuclease digestion of the genome, genome complexity can be significantly reduced while allowing rapid genome-wide development and typing of large-scale SNP markers regardless of the presence or absence of a reference genome.

CD Genomics provides high quality 2b-RAD services, which have been recognized by the industry and researchers for their reproducibility, full library sequencing, uniform sequencing depth and tag independence, which have greatly helped researchers to better develop and type genome-wide SNP markers in plants and animals.

Technical features

  • Full library sequencing with no loss of enzymatic sites. Ultra-high density coverage of the genome for more complete information.
  • Simple process with good technical reproducibility. Highly reproducible results from one sample done twice.
  • Uniform depth of tag sequencing. Reliability and accuracy of each marker is guaranteed.
  • Larger number of markers. In addition to SNPs, dominant markers, CNV information are also available.
  • 2b-RAD tags are independent. Reduced data redundancy and increased information content.
  • Wide range of detection. 2b-RAD can be applied to all types of breeding groups, with or without reference genomes.
  • Highly cost-effective. Extremely cost-effective for large numbers of samples, relatively large genomes, high heterozygosity or species that are relatively poorly studied.

Our services can be applied to the following research areas

  • High-density genetic map construction and fine QTL mapping
  • Population genetics studies
  • Population evolutionary analysis
  • Genome-wide association analysis
  • Ancillary genome assembly
  • Genome-wide selection for breeding

Instructions for providing samples

Species Samples to be tested are diploid organisms, not available for polyploid species at this time
Sample requirements 1.0 µg of sample per sample preparation, or if multiple sample preparations are required, the total amount of sample required = number of sample preparations x 1.0 µg
Sample DNA concentration >25 ng / μL
Sample background Clear kinship between mapping groups, with ≥ 100 offspring tested
